Oyo police arrests 30-year-old with fresh human head

Akinrinola, after his arrest
The Oyo State Police Command on Friday arrested a 30-year-old man, Mr. Seyi Akinrinola, after he beheaded another yet-to-be-identified man as part of a money-making ritual.

Police sources informed our correspondent that information leading to the arrest came from a member of the public, who alerted men of Ojoo Division of the Command, whose DPO, Mr. Musiliu Ishola Doga, deployed his men to effect the arrest of the suspects.

The source said, “The police got information about suspicious activity on Arulogun Street, Igbo Oloyin Area of Ibadan. A team was immediately sent there on surveillance, and not too long after getting to the area a man arrived on Okada and came back with a bag. He was arrested and the bag revealed a human head.

“Upon interrogation, he claimed he did not kill the victim, but admitted severing the head of a person he believed was dead. Of course, we do not believe him because of the state of the head, which is that of a male and should be about 30 – 40 years of age. He pleaded that he was asked by a herbalist to bring the head for a money-making ritual, and the herbalist was also arrested.”
Oyo State Police Police Relations Officer, Mrs Bisi Okuwobi-Ilobanefor, confirmed the story.
