RASHEED Alabi, a suspect arrested with human skull, has confessed that his
intention was to use the skull for money making ritual.
Alabi was arrested at Igbogila village in Ogun State by the Special Anti
Robbery Squad (SARS) of Lagos State Police Command.
Confirming the arrest of Alabi, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations
Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said following
the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos
State Police Command, Kayode Aderanti, who got a tip off on the human parts
dealer, SARS team used a trafficking informer to effect his arrest.
He said the suspect would be charged to court as
soon as investigation is completed.
“Based on information available to SARS, “when we
got there we arrested Rasheed Alabi. It was on December 14, 2014. He was
arrested with one human head, it was at about 11:00hrs”, said a source from
SARS.
Alabi, 38, from Igbogila in Yewa North Local
Government Area of Ogun state said: “I live in Oke-Odan Compound. I’m married.
I have three children. I’m a farmer. I was arrested by the SARS because of the
load I carry. The load is human being head. The dead person that I carry the
head is a person I know very well. He is a Hausa man. He is a business man. He
died in January, 2014. He was buried in my junior brother’s farm. He was buried
there for the reason which l do not know. The late Aboki buys and sells
motorcycles that were not good”.
“After the burial, I asked one Muiz if they can
remove buried corpse and remove the head and sell, he said no. As time went on,
Muiz said that buyers could be found. Before then I have dug out and removed
the head of the late man. I had plan sell the head for N15, 000. This is my
first time”, he confessed.
Alabi, however, as the interview progressed opened
up that he actually wanted to use the skull for him self to be rich.
“The truth is that I wanted to use the head to do
money ritual. I did not see anybody to help me use the head for ritual. I
removed the head because one small boy bought the land and I feel that he uses
human being for ritual. I did not remove that head because of the man who
bought the land but to help myself. It is to help myself to get money. I was
expecting to get like N500, 000 from it so that I can buy tricycle .The
herbalist did not tell me so but my spirit told me it will work. Not the Babalawo
that told me. The Babalawo is my brother and is a boy. Now that I have failed,
I have accepted my fate, anything that happens to me, I have accepted it.”
When confronted with the allegation that villagers
said he killed the man, he said “I did not know anything about that. The man is
known as Baje Baje Akao. He is a Hausa man. I have not killed anybody before”.
