Avengers blow up NNPC pipeline in Warri
Undaunted suspected Niger Delta militants, on Thursday evening, blew up a pipeline said to belong to the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The incident, as gathered, happened at about 7:40p.m at Shalomi Creek in Warri South West Council Area of Delta State.
Members of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), have however, not claimed responsibility for the attacked pipeline in their website or Tweeter handle as they usually do.
It could not also be pieced if any other known group has claimed responsibility for the economic sabotage.
A senior officer in the army confirmed the report, but said he could not speak further on the incident.
It will be recalled that the NDA has claimed responsibility for series of attacks on oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta in recent times.
A two-week ceasefire ordered by the Federal Government to enable it dialogue with members of the NDA still subsists in spite of Avengers' opposition to it by bombing Chevron's facility Wednesday morning.
Officials of SPDC could not be reached to comment on the bombed pipeline as of the time of filing this report.
